Move Your Domain – Easy Steps!
We make it easy to move your domain name from a Web hosting or domain
parking provider to Nevada Bell Internet Services when you sign up
for one of our Shared Web Hosting solutions.
Just follow the five simple steps below to upgrade your Web site or
domain name parking to Nevada Bell Internet Services.
Step 1: Sign up for Service
When you start the registration process, click on the "Move
an Existing Domain" button on the first registration page:
Step 2: Enter the domain name you would like moved.
Step 3: Complete the registration process.
Once the registration process is complete, Nevada Bell Internet
Services will send a transfer request to your registrar on your behalf.
When they receive the transfer request, they will send an e-mail to
the e-mail address listed as the current administrative contact for
your domain name.
TIP: When providing name/address information, use the same
company name and address that is on file at your registrar. If the
company name differs from what is on file, your registrar will not
allow the transfer to be completed.
Step 4: Reply to the registrar e-mail.
Once the administrative contact replies to the registrar e-mail,
they will transfer the domain name
TIP: You can find out the name and e-mail address of the administrative
contact for your domain name by clicking here
and entering your domain name. If your administrative contact is not
available or has left the company, follow the instructions at www.networksolutions.com
to update the administrative contact information.
Step 5: Copy your Web pages and upload them to your new site.
We will provide you with a temporary domain name so you can immediately
start uploading your existing Web files to your Nevada Bell Internet
Shared Web Hosting account. Once the transfer process is complete,
all of your e-mail and Web pages will be accessible from your Shared
Web Hosting account.
TIP: You should keep your old Web hosting account active while
waiting for the registrar to process your transfer request. It can
take up to 7 days from the time you reply to the e-mail for your transfer
to take effect.
Remember that your Registrar (the company you registered your domain
name with, such as Network Solutions or Register.com) does not charge
a fee for moving a domain name to Nevada Bell Internet Services.
